China is rapidly increasing clean energy production to cut carbon dioxide emissions and counter global warming.
A network of wind and solar energy plants is being constructed in China’s deserts where there’s a lot of wind, sun and cheap land.
The desert plants will produce almost as much clean energy as the total generated in India from sources including coal plants and nuclear reactors, reports Bloomberg.
China is producing so much clean energy that it may be able to stop its increases in carbon emissions before the year 2030. That’ll improve the world’s chances of keeping global temperatures under control.
